Invisible – Lyrics

People pass not knowing
Where they’ve hid the missing grin
Dust moves in the sunlight
Swirling in its spin
I think I was forgiven many years before I knew
Invisible to me and so invisible to you

Lose the memory of everything I had before
Finger on my pulse with someone knocking at the door
Half-remembered, half-forgotten
Funny little tune
Forgettable to me and so forgettable to you

I saw the dripping wax, candles melt away
Brush of burning wings, angels flew astray
Salvation in an hourglass, leaps from grain to grain
Left alone in shallow sleep, no sorrow in my pain

So walk the pavement cracks and find
Your freedom in the sun
While dragonflies will hover as they
Dance in foreign tongues
The end is never near or where
Your life may lead you to
Unbeatable by me and so unbeatable by you

People pass not knowing
Where they’ve hid the missing grin
Dust moves in the sunlight
Swirling in its spin
I think I was forgiven many years before I knew
Invisible to me and so invisible to you

 Older and Wiser – Lyrics

Older and wiser won’t make you any smarter
Tried and true can leave you feeling blue
One day you’ll realize it’s not what you’re after
But more to the point what you do

When I was younger I knew who I what wanted to be
Grew up some more and got distracted by philosophy
Went looking for the truth and took some
Twists and turns along the way
Wound up where I am now, what more can I say?

Older and wiser won’t make you any smarter
Tried and true can leave you feeling blue
One day you’ll realize it’s not what you’re after
But more to the point what you do

I thought when I was older
I?d do the things I wanted to do
Stay up all night and have fun with a friend or two
Life would be so easy, I wouldn’t have a care in the world
The bomb was far away, the grass was green
And the sky was blue, that’s right?

When I get short and grey
And start parting my hair in the back
I?ll still be alive, regardless of the parts I may lack
I?ll think about the good times
And lose the times I’d rather forget
Dream on with a friend
Of all the things that haven’t happened yet

Older and wiser won’t make you any smarter
Tried and true can leave you feeling blue
One day you’ll realize it’s not what you’re after
But more to the point what you do

Who is John Galt – Lyrics

If machines stopped
Would the world come down to a standstill
If the motor died
Would we still find a way to be satisfied
From the grid of power to the lines of produce
When the wheel stops dead can we shake ourselves loose

If we cared for
Old ways left to rust while we rush to the end
Would the world shine underneath from the armor
We sweated to bend
Do we stand for what’s right
Or do we swallow the wrong

Do we give it all up to fit in and belong
Do we tighten our belt or throw in the towel
Start all over again and keep the motor tied down
If we walked off from the gleam of machines
And our toys in the dust
Could we stay strong

Without all the distractions and learn how to trust
If the machine stopped
Would the world come down to a standstill
If the motor died
Would we still find a way to be satisfied

Beauty Is – Lyrics

Beauty is as beauty does and what you see
Is seldom what you want
Pretty is as pretty does and what you feel
Is closer to the hunt

You may love every mystery face
And still kiss that empty sky
Put your mark on half the human race
Create a reason to cry

Flesh and blood with skin and bone, so close to home
So easy to destroy
Taken in by pleasant grins, emotions spin
Headed for the void

You can make all your fantasies real
And never get a moment’s rest
Walk away, pretend you have the will
Discover that you fail the test

Simple is as simple does and what you know
Is stronger than you think
Ugly is as ugly does and if it shows
Just hold your breath and blink
Beauty is (3x)

Blood for Big Oil – Lyrics

Blood for Big Oil, dying to see
Who picks the fruit from the paradise tree
Blood for Big Oil, people will bleed
Paying the price for our own human greed
Iraqi troops in Kuwaiti sand
Line up the soldiers and give the command
No moon at night, as the wind dies down
Twenty year old draftees from the USA
Overnight departure for some holiday pay
The Seven Sisters rub their hands and pray
Blood for Big Oil……….
Cost of crude is rising with no shortage in sight
People gettin’ angry, they think it’s their right
To keep up this breakneck pace
Dancing over the edge
There’s a lesson to be learned
Before it’s time to go
From dead dinosaurs buried below
Excuse me while I drive my car down to Texaco
We pay the price for own human greed

Moonlight – Lyrics

Moonlight, sunshine…even cloudy skies
Daylight, night time…as I open up my eyes
I tell myself to wake up to another shining day
And feel this moment as it comes around to stay in….

Daydreams, nightmares…everyone has known
Darkness, bright shades…in the cold, clean lights are shown
I walk the streets and wonder as the evening clouds roll on
And still this feeling of a time when I belonged to…

Starlight, night beams…ending of the day
Goodnight, sweet dreams…nothing more to say
I close my eyes and think of now and drift away to then
And float on questions, hoping to begin again with…

Moonlight…sunshine, moonlight…sunshine
Moonlight, sunshine, moonlight, sunshine…
Moonlight

Earth Changes – Lyrics

When the ocean moves to land
And the wind is blowing with the treetops rolling
Clouds across the sky
And the rain is falling with the thunder calling

The earth is ever changing
Just re-arranging the scenery
She circles through each season
For no good reason that I can see
Turning and spinning and rolling along with the tide
In the ocean of life, we’re just going along for the ride

When the fire touches sky
And the smoke is rising, it is not surprising
With a mountain’s ancient cry
There’s a new volcano as the lava flows

The earth is ever changing
Just re-arranging the scenery
She circles through each season
For no good reason that I can see
Turning and spinning and rolling along with the tide
In the ocean of life, we’re just going along for the ride

At the bottom of a tree
Where the roots are growing, there’s a power flowing
Something wild and free
As it takes direction, seeking its perfection

The earth is ever changing
Just re-arranging the scenery
She circles through each season
For no good reason that I can see
Turning and spinning and rolling along with the tide
In the ocean of life, we’re just going along for the ride

River City Trouble – Lyrics

Written by Marshal Jon McKitrick
Copyright 1990

Salmon jumping upstream, dead on the sand
Bums on the riverbank, hold out their hands
River City Trouble, watching the water rise
Water running everywhere and not a drop to drink
Don’t fill your teacup with water from the sink

Just a dirty puddle, watching the river rise
Snow in the mountains, melting the pack
L.A.’s got the water and they won’t give it back
Savings & Loans’ floating them homes downstream……
Can you believe it?

Old town’s gettin’ bigger, bursting the seams
Someone’s got their hands on a bundle of green
Pesticide water, hosing my garden down
Rats in the kitchen, cows in the corn
Homeless in their boxes just wanna’ stay warm
Fish in a barrel, waiting on winter storms
I don’t believe it ….

The banks are overdrawn and the fish are in hock
Bums are caught between no home and a rock
River City Trouble watching the water rise…..
River City Trouble, wake up and open your eyes…
